The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented an arrest campaign carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of Kutum, North Darfur State, targeting a number of girls and a medical staff member, amid escalating tensions and security instability in the city.
According to CFJ’s documentation, a force affiliated with the RSF raided homes in the Al‑Istiqal East neighborhood in Kutum on 11 May 2026, arresting Salwa Bakhit and Ishraqa Ali, and confiscating mobile phones from inside the houses.
The arrests also included a medical worker, Rawia, who was detained from inside the hospital without any clarification of the reasons or any publicly announced charges against her.
The Committee for Justice expressed concern over the continuation of arbitrary arrest campaigns targeting civilians, particularly women and healthcare workers, amid the absence of legal safeguards and the increasing frequency of violations linked to detention outside the framework of the law.
CFJ calls for the immediate release of all detained women, the disclosure of their places of detention, guarantees for their safety, and an end to violations targeting civilians and workers in the humanitarian and medical sectors.
