The Public Prosecution has charged the 79 defendants with the following crimes: committing offenses by leading a terrorist group (the Muslim Brotherhood Group) with the aim of calling for the disruption of the Constitution and laws, preventing state institutions and public authorities from performing their duties, attempting to forcibly change the government system, and assaulting individuals, facilities of the armed forces, the police, and public facilities.
The Public Prosecution has also attributed to the defendants the “crimes of murder and attempted murder with the intent of terrorism, possession of firearms and ammunition without a license, possession and display of white weapons, possession of fireworks and explosives, gathering with the aim of disabling state authorities from performing their duties, thuggery, road blocking, and showcasing power to terrify citizens, as well as sabotage and intentional destruction of public and private properties, and deliberately setting fires in public and governmental facilities.” .
