Geneva: January 29, 2023

The deceased detainee was Sameh Tolba Saleh Al-Zoq (53 years old). He had worked as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician in Henbay, Zagazig Center in Sharkia. He died due to the deterioration of his health inside the police station, where he was detained for two months after the end of his two-year prison sentence.

The death was due to the poor conditions of detention inside the aforementioned police station, and the lack of medical and health care inside his prison, which led to the deterioration of his health condition.

Al-Zoq ended his two-year sentence pending investigations in a political case, and remained detained without legal basis in the Zagazig police station.
