The “Committee for Justice” (CFJ) has documented the death of prominent defender of teachers’ and students’ rights in Sudan, Osama Jalal, who passed away in the detention facilities of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Jalal had been arrested by the RSF at the start of the war on April 15, 2024. He was abducted amid the country’s deteriorating security conditions and was never released until his death, raising concerns about the conditions of his detention and possible torture.
CFJ demands a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, holding those responsible accountable, preventing impunity, and ensuring proper redress and compensation for his family.
