Press Release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the confiscation of the home of journalist Ashraf Omar Ibrahim, a correspondent for the South Darfur Radio and Television Corporation and an anchor for Al-Zarqa Satellite Channel, in the city of Nyala, carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia.

According to CFJ, this act was based on an order issued by Abdul Rahim Dagalo, the deputy commander of the Rapid Support Forces, and represents a serious escalation in violations of freedom of expression and targeting of journalists in the country.

CFJ emphasizes that this action is a flagrant violation of human rights and is part of a continuous series of grave abuses perpetrated by these forces against activists and journalists. The committee reflects a clear intention to silence free voices and intimidate unarmed civilians, exacerbating the tension in the region.

CFJ calls upon the Rapid Support Forces to immediately reverse this unjust decision, stressing that the persistence of such practices will only lead to a deterioration in humanitarian conditions, threatening further chaos and destruction, while civilians remain the primary victims of these violations.
