On Thursday, January 16, the “Committee for Justice” has monitored a strike organized by workers of the Turkish clothing company “T&C Garment” in Obour City, protesting low wages.

The workers demanded a 50% increase in their annual bonus, highlighting that their average salary, approximately 4,500 EGP, remains insufficient. The strike was a step taken to voice their grievances and push for their demands to be met.

The workers announced their intention to continue the strike on Saturday if the management does not meet their legitimate demands. The protest witnessed significant participation from workers, who raised slogans calling for their rights and emphasizing the need to improve their financial conditions to match the current economic challenges.

CFJ expresses full solidarity with the workers’ just and legitimate demands, urging the company management to engage positively and meet these requests. Additionally, the committee calls on the Egyptian Ministry of Labor to intervene promptly to rectify the injustice against the workers, protect their interests, and ensure their basic rights in a fair and appropriate work environment.
