The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has confirmed the death of humanitarian activist Dr. Hazem Abdullah Al-Obaid after he was abducted from the “Al-Jadeed Al-Thawra” area north of Gezira State and subjected to brutal torture inside detention centers operated by the Rapid Support Forces militia.
Local Sudanese sources have previously confirmed that numerous crimes and violations have been committed by forces affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces in areas north of Gezira State, including Al-Jadeed, Batri, Al-Halqi, and Habayba — areas that remain under the control of the Rapid Support Forces.
The CFJ strongly condemns this heinous crime and all ongoing violations, and calls for an immediate and independent investigation to uncover the truth behind the death of Al-Obaid, identify those responsible, and prevent them from evading justice.
