Ten Years Since the Establishment of the Committee for Justice (CFJ)

Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Minutes

The tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Committee for Justice marks a significant milestone in our journey. It is an occasion to reflect on a full decade of dedicated human rights work, rooted in a firm belief in the importance of defending human rights, combating violations, upholding the principles of the rule of law, and strengthening the values of justice.
Over the past ten years, the Committee for Justice has worked to monitor and document grave violations, shed light on human rights conditions, and provide professional human rights analyses and reports that have contributed to raising international awareness and supporting advocacy efforts at the regional and international levels. Since its establishment, the Committee for Justice has remained committed to international standards, the independence of its work, and the objectivity of its reporting. This commitment has driven us to expand our coverage to include several countries experiencing human rights violations in North Africa and the Sahel.
The Committee for Justice obtained a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which represents an important step that reflects confidence in its professionalism and credibility. It also strengthens its ability to contribute effectively to United Nations mechanisms, convey the voices of victims, and participate in the development of policies related to human rights.
This occasion is not limited to reflecting on what has been achieved. It also renews the Committee’s commitment to continuing its work towards a more just world, where human dignity is protected and fundamental rights and freedoms are guaranteed without discrimination. The Committee also emphasizes the importance of cooperation with various actors, including civil society organizations, regional and international bodies, and all partners to strengthen efforts to protect human rights and ensure accountability for perpetrators of violations.
As the Committee for Justice extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who have supported its journey over the past years, including partners, experts, and human rights defenders, it renews its commitment to continue its mission of defending truth and justice, advocating for victims, and working towards a future grounded in respect for human rights.
