Sudan: Two Red Crescent volunteers killed in artillery shelling in Sennar State, CFJ Calls for investigation

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the death of two Sudanese Red Crescent Society volunteers in artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces in Sennar State.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies confirmed the deaths of Babiker Fadl Al-Moula on July 5, 2024, and Al-Daw Jabir Ali on July 12, 2024, bringing the total number of volunteers lost since the conflict began to six.

CFJ condemns the deaths of the volunteers and calls for an impartial and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths. CFJ urges both sides of the conflict in Sudan to protect humanitarian workers, emphasizing that their protection is a legal and moral obligation.
