The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the killing of a doctor and humanitarian activist by the “Rapid Support Forces” militia in Al-Jazirah State, central Sudan.
According to CFJ, the forces killed Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Al-Dhaw Abdul Mahmoud in the village of Al-Adanab in Al-Jazirah State following their incursion into the area on Thursday, August 1st.
CFJ condemns the killing of Dr. Abdul Mahmoud and calls for a neutral, transparent, and swift investigation into the circumstances of the incident, with the aim of identifying those responsible and ensuring they are held accountable.
CFJ also urges both parties in the Sudanese conflict to spare medical facilities and staff from the ravages of war, maintain the neutrality of these institutions, and ensure the protection of those working within them.
