Press Release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has reported the death of Sudanese journalist Bakhita Adam Masoud on December 9, 2024, following shrapnel injuries sustained during ongoing military clashes in Khartoum Bahri.

The CFJ emphasizes that the persistent loss of civilian lives represents a serious violation of human rights. The committee calls for an immediate investigation into the circumstances of Masoud’s death and urges accountability for those responsible to prevent impunity.

It is worth noting that the late Bakhita Adam Masoud was among the pioneers of Sudanese radio broadcasting. She joined Sudan Radio in 1978 and presented notable programs, including Al-Mufakkira (The Notebook) and Ma Yatlubuhu Al-Mughtariboun (What the Expatriates Request), for many years.
