The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the killing of preacher, volunteer activist, and executive office member of the Young Journalists Network, Al‑Siddiq Khaled Bakhit, on Saturday, 25 April 2026, in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan State.

According to CFJ’s documentation, artillery shelling targeted the city and resulted in his death. The attack was attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in cooperation with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM‑N) led by Abdelaziz Adam Al‑Hilu.

Available information indicates that the incident occurred amid an escalation of military operations in the area, heightening concerns over the safety of civilians in conflict‑affected regions.

The Committee for Justice affirmed that targeting civilians or exposing them to the dangers of military operations constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law, and called for the protection of civilians and an end to attacks on residential areas.

CFJ also calls for an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and for holding those responsible accountable, in order to ensure that perpetrators of violations do not enjoy impunity.
