The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the killing of civilian Nair Abu Sarwal inside a detention facility in the Fakoki area, التابعة لمحلية Wad Banda in West Kordofan State, on 20 April 2026, under circumstances indicating that he was subjected to torture during detention.

According to CFJ, the victim was arrested by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) one day prior to his death on charges described as unclear, before being detained inside Fakoki Police Station.

Information documented by the Committee indicates that the victim was subjected to acts of torture during his detention, leading to his death inside the detention facility—an incident that raises serious concerns about the conditions of detainees in conflict‑affected areas.

The Committee for Justice considers this incident a grave violation of the right to life and physical integrity, highlighting the dangers of torture and ill‑treatment inside places of detention.

CFJ calls for an independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, the identification and accountability of those responsible, and stresses the need to protect detainees and put an end to torture and ill‑treatment practices.
