Press Release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the incident of Professor El-Tahir Madani Al-Shibli’s death, a consultant in pediatrics and neonatology, who passed away in Khartoum on Sunday, October 27, due to severe head trauma.

The committee reported that “Al-Shibli” was subjected to torture at the hands of armed groups affiliated with the “Rapid Support Forces” (RSF) after being kidnapped from his home in the Al-Mamoura neighborhood.

Professor Al-Shibli was a prominent figure in his field, serving as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Khartoum and making significant contributions to family and child health, which earned him the World Health Organization Award in 2012 in recognition of his efforts.

CFJ expresses its profound sorrow over the death of Professor Al-Shibli and calls for a fair, transparent, and prompt investigation, as well as accountability for those responsible for this incident.
