The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the disappearance of Sudanese journalist Taj Osman, who has been missing since Sunday, July 28th, while covering the ongoing battles between the army and Rapid Support Forces militias in the city of Singa, Sennar State.

Osman is one of Sudan’s prominent investigative journalists, having served as the head of the investigative department at several Sudanese newspapers, including “Al-Rai Al-Aam” and “Al-Harak Al-Siyasi.”

CFJ is calling on both sides of the conflict in Sudan to intensify their efforts to locate Osman, ensure his safety, and clarify his fate if he is being detained by either party. CFJ also urges respect for press freedom and the protection of journalists as they carry out their professional duties amid the ongoing conflict in the country.
