Press Release
The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the death of Dr. Khaled Al-Nour Farah, a gynecologist and relief worker in the city of Omdurman, on Sunday, September 29.
Dr. Al-Nour had been subjected to a brutal assault by the Rapid Support Forces militia while at his home in Sennar city, which resulted in severe injuries. His condition worsened due to his struggle with diabetes and deliberate medical neglect.
CFJ expressed deep concern over the incident, deeming the attack on Dr. Al-Nour a blatant violation of human rights, and calls for the medical staff to be spared the ravages of war.
CFJ also pointed out that denying Dr. Al-Nour treatment constitutes a violation of his right to life, a fundamental human right. CFJ demands a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the prosecution of those responsible. The committee further warns of the importance of ensuring that the perpetrators do not escape justice to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
