The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has denounced the arrest of 4 activists in Al-Burqiq locality, Northern State, for organizing a communal iftar in celebration of the April 6 anniversary.

The activists—Ruwa’a Essam, Ayoub Saeed, Abdullah Abdel-Moneim, and Jasni Sherif—were taken into custody following an altercation with police who arrived at the iftar location before Maghrib prayers.

According to CFJ, the activists remain detained without charges, as confirmed by local resistance committees.

CFJ expresses solidarity with the detained individuals and urges Sudanese authorities to release them immediately and unconditionally while ensuring a safe and conducive environment for their peaceful activism.
