Press Release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the death of aid activist and physician Khalid Ahmed Hussein in the village of “Abdul Aziz,” located in rural Al-Muslamiyah in Sudan’s Gezira State. The attack, carried out by militias affiliated with the “Rapid Support Forces,” also left over 25 civilians with varying degrees of injuries.

Local sources reported to the committee that the assault extended beyond loss of life, involving widespread looting of villagers’ belongings. Systematic intimidation forced many residents into involuntary displacement at gunpoint, abandoning their homes and possessions.

CFJ condemns the attack as a flagrant violation of human rights. The committee urges relevant authorities to take swift action to protect civilians, conduct a comprehensive investigation into the killing, and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice to prevent impunity.
