The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented a protest vigil organized by healthcare sector workers in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, calling for improvements to their living and working conditions and the regularization of their employment status, amid demands for better working environments and stronger guarantees of workers’ professional rights.
According to information documented by CFJ, the protest forms part of broader demands for meaningful reforms in the health sector, aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services while safeguarding the rights, dignity, and welfare of healthcare professionals. Participants also called for addressing longstanding employment and living conditions affecting workers across the sector and urged authorities to respond to their legitimate demands.
The Committee for Justice emphasizes that ensuring fair working conditions, adequate compensation, and secure employment status for healthcare workers is essential not only for protecting labor rights but also for maintaining the stability and effectiveness of healthcare services provided to the public.
CFJ calls on the Libyan authorities to respond positively to the demands of healthcare workers, regularize their employment status, and adopt reform measures that protect their professional and financial rights and improve workplace conditions. The Committee stresses that such steps are necessary to strengthen the stability of the healthcare sector and enhance its capacity to deliver quality medical services to the population.
