Hundreds of workers at the Al-Amir Ceramics Production Company in 10th of Ramadan City have continued their strike for the sixth consecutive day, protesting against low wages that do not exceed 3,000 EGP, as the factory management refuses to implement the new minimum wage of 7,000 EGP.
Despite the workers’ legitimate demands, several employees reported that the factory’s security director, a former army colonel, threatened and dismissed some workers in an attempt to break the strike. This has fueled anger among the workers, who reaffirmed their determination to continue striking until their demands are met.
The “Committee for Justice” (CFJ) expresses full solidarity with the workers of Al-Amir Ceramics Production Company in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt, urging the company’s management to positively engage with the workers’ legitimate demands and to refrain from using security measures to suppress or contain the strike. The committee also calls on the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower to intervene to safeguard the rights of the workers.
