The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented escalating security tensions and violations against civilians in the Um Hasheem area, north of Markab Administrative Unit, التابعة لمحلية Al‑Khoei in West Kordofan State, amid growing fears of a worsening security breakdown in the area.

According to local sources, forces affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out an attack on the area, during which civilians’ properties were assaulted and livestock herds were looted, before residents were able to recover part of the stolen livestock.

The information further indicates that the incident was followed by a wide arrest campaign targeting 12 civilians from the area, against the backdrop of continued tension and fear among residents.

Local sources also reported that the area is experiencing a state of panic and terror as a result of repeated attacks and violations targeting civilians and their property, with increasing concerns over the expansion of violence and security instability.

The Committee for Justice calls for the release of the detainees, an end to violations against civilians, and the protection of residents and their property, stressing the need to respect the rules of international humanitarian law and to refrain from targeting civilians or restricting their freedoms outside the framework of the law.
