Tunisia: CFJ rejects detention of former justice minister and demands his release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored that the Dean of Investigative Judges at the Tunis Primary Court has issued a detention order for Ennahda party leader and former Justice Minister, Noureddine Bhiri, in connection with the investigation into the death of former MP Jilani Daboussi.

The accused in Daboussi’s death case face charges of premeditated murder as the investigation continues.

CFJ condemns the arbitrary measures against Bhiri and calls for his immediate and unconditional release.The Committee for Justice (CFJ) condemns these arbitrary measures against Zagrouba, which appear to stem from his professional and

human rights activities and his defense of freedoms. CFJ calls for his immediate and unconditional release and an end to his targeting.
