Press Release

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has condemned the death of engineer and humanitarian relief activist Muhannad Taj El-Din inside the detention centers of the Rapid Support Forces militia, over a year after his arrest.

The committee reported that the deceased had been detained under harsh and inhumane conditions during the clashes, held in an environment that lacked the basic elements of dignity and justice.

CFJ is calling for an independent, impartial, and prompt investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Taj El-Din’s death, hold those responsible for this severe human rights violation accountable, and ensure they do not escape justice.
