Press release

Geneva – June 30, 2024

Workers on the “Monorail – Suspended Electric Train” project in New Cairo, employed by the Arab Contractors Company, have declared a strike starting in early June.

The workers reported that the strike was prompted by discriminatory salary increases among employees without any legal basis, leading to feelings of inequality and a lack of justice and transparency.

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) expresses solidarity with the Arab Contractors workers on the monorail project, calling for equal treatment with company employees, elimination of wage disparities, and the implementation of transparent wage policies within the company
