The bulletin, published via its political case agenda, was launched to facilitate access to information on hearing dates and updates on human rights cases in a simplified, accessible format. Case Name: New Cairo Cell – Supreme Administrative Committee – Muslim Brotherhood Administrative Structure

• Details: The First Criminal Circuit of First Instance, presided over by Judge Mohamed El-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided to adjourn the trial of 22 defendants – including 18 in custody and 4 fugitives – in Case No. 21122 of 2022, Nasr City First Criminal Court, registered under No. 1375 of 2022 New Cairo Public Prosecution, No. 908 of 2021 Supreme State Security Prosecution, and No. 340 of 2022 Supreme State Security Criminal Court, known in the media as the “New Cairo Cell” case, to May 3 for the Public Prosecution’s pleadings.

Case Name: Al-Azhar University Incidents

• Details: The First Criminal Circuit of First Instance, presided over by Judge Mohamed El-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided to adjourn the retrial of Yasser Ayman Mohamed Abdel Hamid – the 35th defendant in the referral order in Case No. 7399 of 2013, Nasr City Second Misdemeanor Court, known in the media as the “Al-Azhar University Incidents” – to April 20 for defense motions. The defendant was previously sentenced in absentia to five years of rigorous imprisonment and five years of police probation starting after the end of the sentence.

Case Name: Abdeen Violence Incidents

• Details: The First Criminal Circuit of First Instance, presided over by Judge Mohamed El-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided to adjourn the retrial of Abdel Rahman Osama Hassan Mostafa – the first defendant in Case No. 699 of 2015, known in the media as the “Abdeen Riots” – to May 18 to ensure the defendant’s attendance from custody. It’s worth noting that the defendant had previously been sentenced in absentia on April 3, 2017, to five years of rigorous imprisonment for possession of explosives, protesting, and use of force.
