Sudan: Committee for Justice Documents Killing of Civilian Under Torture in West Kordofan and Warns of Escalating Violations

Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Minutes

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the death of Sudanese citizen Salah Al‑Amin, from the Um Ragedti area in West Kordofan, after he was abducted and subjected to severe torture by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Khomas Al‑Hameer area of Abuzabad locality.

According to local sources, Al‑Amin had been arrested five days earlier and was falsely accused under fabricated charges to justify his detention. He was then subjected to various forms of abuse and brutal beatings before being abandoned in an open area in critical condition, ultimately dying from injuries caused by torture.

CFJ stressed that this incident is not an isolated assault, but rather reflects a systematic escalation of violations committed against civilians in West Kordofan. The committee warned that the continuation of such practices poses serious risks to civilian lives and undermines fundamental human rights.

CFJ called on the relevant authorities and international organizations to urgently intervene to ensure the protection of civilians, hold the perpetrators accountable, and put an end to the ongoing practices of torture and arbitrary detention targeting residents.
