The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has confirmed the killing of two doctors and a nurse in Al-Nuhud city, North Kordofan, following the violent attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces militia on May 1, 2025, coinciding with the withdrawal of the Sudanese Armed Forces from the city.
Those killed have been identified as: Dr. Mohamed Al-Amin Ahmed Al-Habib, humanitarian activist and medical director of Al-Nuhud Hospital; Dr. Mohamed Naeem, humanitarian activist and hospital physician; and Ibrahim Babiker, humanitarian activist and chief nurse at Al-Nuhud Hospital.
Dr. Anas Siddig was also wounded in the attack and remains under close medical observation amid extremely difficult health and living conditions.
According to field sources, the exact number of casualties remains unknown due to the complete disruption of communication networks and internet services, as well as the difficulty in accessing information from within the city, which is suffering from near-total siege and lack of basic services.
The CFJ strongly condemns these killings, which constitute extrajudicial executions and can be classified as war crimes. It calls for an independent and transparent investigation into the incident, the identification of those responsible, and ensuring they are held accountable.
The CFJ also urges all conflict parties in Sudan to protect medical facilities and humanitarian teams from the ravages of war, and to provide a safe and enabling environment for them to carry out their professional duties effectively and safely.
