Sudan: The CFJ condemns continued detention of lawyer Dar El-Salam Abdallah and calls for her immediate release

Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Minutes

The Rapid Support Forces continue to detain human rights lawyer and activist Dr. Dar El-Salam Abdallah, who was arrested early on the first day of Eid Al-Adha without any judicial orders or legal justification, following an armed raid on her family’s home in Area 16, Ombada, and her subsequent disappearance into an unknown location.

The arrest of Dar El-Salam comes amid a clear escalation in violations against legal and human rights professionals by the Rapid Support Forces, due to their work in monitoring and documenting crimes committed against civilians.

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) strongly condemns the ongoing arbitrary detention of human rights lawyer Dar El-Salam Abdallah , and calls for her immediate and unconditional release, as well as an end to the policy of targeting and security persecution against legal and human rights personnel, and ensuring a safe environment for them to carry out their legitimate and peaceful human rights activities.
