Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Minutes

The second day of the training program organized by the “Committee for Justice” for a selected group of Sudanese human rights defenders continued in Kampala, Uganda. The program is designed to enhance their skills in monitoring, documentation, and advocacy through the application of best practices and international methodologies.

– Second-Day Activities:

On the second day, the committee conducted practical training on evidence collection, including a role-playing exercise simulating monitoring and reporting in a controlled environment while assessing risks. Participants also learned how to structure and draft reports for submission to the United Nations and international organizations.

Additionally, the training provided practical guidance on working with UN treaty bodies, special procedures, and advocacy tools. It also covered strategies for developing sustainable advocacy plans to ensure long-term impact.

A hands-on group exercise was also conducted, where Sudanese human rights defenders practiced creating and presenting advocacy plans based on case studies.

This program is expected to bridge gaps in the skills of Sudanese human rights activists, strengthen efforts for accountability and justice, and support human rights work amid Sudan’s increasing challenges. It also aims to establish a collaborative network to enhance advocacy and accountability efforts in the country.
