The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the abduction of 97 young men by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Ayal Bakhit area of West Kordofan State, amid persistent uncertainty surrounding their fate and physical safety.
According to local sources, the abducted youths were on their way to gold‑mining areas in search of employment when they were forcibly detained by RSF personnel under unclear pretexts, despite having presented their civilian identification and explained the purpose of their travel.
This incident forms part of a broader pattern of violations targeting residents of West Kordofan, disrupting daily life and undermining livelihoods across the region.
CFJ warned of the grave implications of the ongoing violations for human rights in the area and called on international organizations and human rights bodies to urgently intervene to determine the whereabouts of the detainees, ensure their safety, and secure their immediate release.
