Sudan: CFJ Reports the Killing of Relief Activist and Doctor Bilal Mansour in a Drone Attack and Calls for Investigation and Accountability

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the death of relief activist and doctor Bilal Balla Mansour, who succumbed to severe injuries caused by a drone strike in East Nile, Khartoum State.

Mansour passed away on Monday, February 17, in the city of Shendi, River Nile State, due to complications from his injuries.

CFJ condemns this tragic incident, calling for an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the attack and to hold those responsible accountable, ensuring they do not evade justice. The committee also urges both sides of the conflict to protect civilians, medical personnel, and healthcare facilities from the impact of the conflict, emphasizing the need to respect international laws that safeguard civilians and humanitarian workers.
