The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the killing of Dr. Amjad Baha El-Din, a volunteer doctor at “Al-Nau” Hospital and a relief activist, by the Rapid Support Forces on February 19.

Baha El-Din passed away in the city of Shendi in Nile River State due to complications from severe burns sustained a week earlier, following the militia’s shelling of Block 19 in the Al-Thawra area, Karari locality, Omdurman, Khartoum State.

The doctor sustained severe injuries while providing medical assistance to those affected by the shelling. He later joined his mother, who passed away hours after the fire, while his younger brother was also injured in the attack and is currently hospitalized.

CFJ condemns this crime and calls for an urgent and comprehensive investigation to identify those responsible for the shelling, hold them accountable, and prevent their impunity.
