The “Committee for Justice” (CFJ) has documented the arrest of several Nuba individuals affiliated with the Sudanese Church and active in church-related activities. They had fled their homes in “Al-Izba” seeking safety in areas controlled by the Sudanese army.
Upon their arrival in the “Shendi” area, they were arrested by security forces of the Sudanese army and accused of collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces and receiving stolen money.
According to information from the “Sudanese Christian Youth Union,” the detainees were youth trainers in the Sudanese Church in “Al-Izba” and had no ties to the Rapid Support Forces. They were merely seeking safety as the war intensified in their regions.
The names of the detainees are:
- Murad Mubrad Murjan – Youth Trainer at Christ Church Sudan, Al-Izba
- Moataz Saeed
- Saddam Toto
- Akram Omar Al-Mahdi
- Markos Mousa
- Amjad Mostafa
- Al-Laqab Mohamed
CFJ condemns these violations and the unjust arrests of these innocent individuals, which contradict humanitarian values and religious freedoms in Sudan. Additionally, they violate international treaties that guarantee individuals’ right to movement. The committee calls on the authorities to ensure their protection and release them immediately.
