The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented collective complaints submitted by families and relatives of detainees held in Al‑Kuwayfiyah (Isolation) Prison, regarding serious violations committed against detainees in the “Sufiya” and “Adab” wards. These violations include the denial of visitation rights, the prevention of detainees from accessing the judiciary to secure fair trials, as well as threats directed at detainees’ families.
According to CFJ’s documentation, prison officials have, since the first day, refused to allow family visits or comply with legal procedures related to court hearings. They have also continued to issue threats to the families of detainees, in explicit disregard for the law and judicial directives, as reported by relatives.
CFJ stressed that these actions constitute grave violations of the fundamental rights of detainees, including their right to access the courts, to receive family visits, and to be treated humanely.
The Committee for Justice calls on the relevant authorities to intervene immediately to end these violations, ensure the full protection of detainees’ legal and human rights, and hold accountable all those responsible for these abuses.
