The second terrorism circuit court, sitting at the Badr Court Complex and presided over by Judge Wajdi Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, held the first session of the new trial of lawyer and human rights activist Hoda Abd El-Moneim on May 14, 2025.

According to a source from Hoda’s family, the trial was adjourned to the session scheduled for July 14, 2025, and she arrived at the court in an ambulance due to deteriorating health condition and deliberate medical neglect she has been subjected to inside detention.

Hoda’s detention was renewed (re-arrested) following the end of her previous five-year prison term on October 30, 2023, under case number 730/2020 State Security.

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) condemns ongoing blatant violations committed against lawyer and human rights activist Hoda Abd El-Moneim and demands her immediate release due to deteriorating health condition, holding Egyptian authorities fully responsible for her health and safety.
