Egypt: CFJ Documents Protest by United Pharmacists Company Workers Over Delayed Salaries and Suspension of Medical Services

Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Minutes

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented a protest organized by workers of the United Pharmacists Company outside the company’s headquarters in Dar Al-Salam, Cairo Governorate, in objection to not receiving their full wages.

According to CFJ, workers reported that the company continues to delay salary payments and has failed to pay social insurance contributions, resulting in the suspension of medical and healthcare services provided to them.

The workers had previously staged a similar protest about a week ago at the company’s branches in Tamooh and Al-Haram in Giza Governorate, without any response from management, despite holding an earlier protest in August over the same demands.

CFJ expressed its solidarity with the protesting workers, stressing their right to receive all overdue financial entitlements in accordance with the law and the minimum wage requirements. The committee also emphasized the need for swift measures to restore access to medical and healthcare services as stipulated in the workers’ contracts.
