The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the killing of medical laboratory doctor Adel Moussa Al‑Tigani, a graduate of the 22nd batch of Imam Al‑Mahdi University, on the morning of Tuesday, 5 May 2026, following a drone strike that targeted civilian facilities in the city of Kosti, White Nile State.
According to CFJ’s documentation, the drone strike was attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and targeted civilian areas inside the city, resulting in civilian casualties, including Dr. Adel Moussa Al‑Tigani.
Available information indicates that Al‑Tigani’s death brings the total number of medical personnel killed since the outbreak of the conflict to 235, amid the continued targeting of civilian facilities and populated areas.
The Committee for Justice expressed deep concern over the escalating targeting of civilians and healthcare workers, stressing that attacks on civilian objects and medical personnel constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and contribute to the further collapse of health services in conflict‑affected areas.
CFJ calls for the protection of civilians and medical workers, an end to attacks on civilian objects, and the full respect of international humanitarian law, while ensuring accountability for those responsible for these violations.
