Sudan: CFJ reports killing of two doctors amid ongoing RSF attacks on medical personnel

The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has monitored the deaths of two Sudanese doctors in multiple attacks carried out by the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against medical personnel engaged in relief efforts across various regions of the country.

CFJ reported that RSF forces in Um Duban, southeast of Khartoum Bahri in Khartoum State, assassinated Dr. Omar Al-Sayed Hajj Mustafa Rabah, the medical director of the city’s hospital, at his home on Sunday, June 16.

Additionally, Dr. Molham Mohamed Imam, a physician and humanitarian activist aiding displaced persons in Al-Huda, Al-Jazira State, was killed on Tuesday, June 18, following heavy artillery shelling of the city by RSF militias.

CFJ expressed deep regret over the deaths of Dr. Rabah and Dr. Imam, calling for transparent, prompt, and impartial investigations into the circumstances surrounding their killings, and for those responsible to be held accountable and prevented from escaping justice.

CFJ also voiced serious concern over the continued targeting of active medical personnel in displaced persons relief efforts by RSF militias. and urged both parties in the Sudan conflict to cease targeting medical facilities and personnel and to ensure a safe and conducive environment for their peaceful and legitimate medical and humanitarian activities.
