Press Release
The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has condemned the killing of humanitarian and aid worker, Reham Abdullah Mohammed, on Friday, October 4, in Omdurman, following a bombing carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on residential neighborhoods in the city.
CFJ calls for impartial, swift, and transparent investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and to identify those responsible, ensuring they are held accountable.
CFJ also expressed deep concern over the continued targeting of medical facilities and personnel in Sudan, considering it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. CFJ emphasized that such actions endanger civilian lives and exacerbate the suffering of the Sudanese people amid the current crisis.
The committee urged both parties in the Sudanese conflict to immediately cease targeting medical and humanitarian workers and to provide a safe environment for them to perform their vital humanitarian duties, stressing that ensuring the safety of these workers is of the utmost humanitarian importance during these challenging times.
