The Committee for Justice (CFJ) has documented the arrest of political activist Ali Omar by security authorities in Kassala State, according to information provided by individuals close to him.
According to CFJ’s findings, Omar was detained without any clarification of the reasons for his arrest and without disclosure of any accompanying legal إجراءات, raising serious concerns that he may be subjected to arbitrary detention.
CFJ stated that this incident falls within a recurring pattern of repression targeting political activists, posing a direct threat to freedom of political participation and freedom of expression.
The Committee for Justice calls for the immediate disclosure of Ali Omar’s place of detention, guarantees for his safety, and enabling him to communicate with his family and legal counsel. CFJ further demands his immediate release in the absence of any legal basis for his continued detention.
