According to available information, RSF personnel confiscated the Starlink device and imposed a financial fine on its owner before taking the young men to RSF military intelligence offices.
In a related development, CFJ documented the arrest of Sheikh Tariq Abdullah from inside the hospital of the Fouja Administrative Area in Al‑Nuhud locality on Friday, 21 August. The day before, RSF forces arrested Sheikh Ismail Abu Seil Saeed, imam of the Old Mosque in Wad Banda locality, in connection with his involvement in a community initiative aimed at providing food assistance to displaced persons and people in need. Available information indicates that his arrest was justified by allegations that he had launched the initiative without obtaining prior authorization from the RSF and without disclosing its sources of support.
CFJ also documented the killing of two civilians in the village of Al‑Rudayma, within the Al‑Dabkar Administrative Area of Al‑Sunut locality, West Kordofan State, after they were reportedly shot by armed men wearing RSF uniforms on Sunday, 23 August 2026. The shooting killed Al‑Zubair Abd Rab Al‑Quran Mohamed at the scene, while Hammad Al‑Fadil Obeid, known as “Abu Sitta,” died after being transported to Al‑Muglad Hospital, having suffered severe bleeding caused by gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right thigh.
The Committee for Justice calls for the immediate release of all detainees unless there are specific charges supported by lawful legal procedures. CFJ further calls for any accused individuals to be brought promptly before fair and impartial judicial proceedings, and for an investigation into the incidents of killing and shooting, with accountability for those responsible.
