    Case Summary:<\/span><\/h3>\n

    The Terrorism Criminal Court, convened at the Wadi El-Natrun Rehabilitation and Reform Center, led by Judge Sameh Abdel Hakim, President of the Court, with the participation of Judges Abdel Rahman Safwat El Husseiny, Yasser Okasha Al-Metnawy, and Mohamed Marei, and in the presence of <\/span>Ziad El-Elaimy<\/span>, Chief Prosecutor of the State Security Prosecution, decided to adjourn the trial of the defendant for embracing the ideology of Daesh-ISIS group. The defendant was charged with cutting the throat of a police officer at the Shubra El-Kheima Police Station and attempting to murder others in September 2023, to the next session on January 28, 2024. The court noted the absence of a defense attorney for the defendant. Upon his request, the court appointed the duty lawyer to represent him. This lawyer requested an adjournment to adequately prepare for the defense. Furthermore, the court ordered the defendant’s detention at one of the Wadi El-Natrun Rehabilitation and Reform Centers, effective immediately, pending the case.<\/p>\n

    Last week, the High State Security Prosecution referred the defendant to trial after confirming his guilt in the premeditated murder of the victim, Omar Abdel Aziz Mohamed Abdel Aziz El-Tantawy. The defendant had premeditated and resolved to take the life of any police officer he encountered at the Shubra El-Kheima Police Station, accusing them of not implementing Islamic Sharia. He prepared a knife for this purpose and proceeded to the police station. Upon capturing one of them, he slaughtered him, intending to kill, and tried to flee. However, the pursuit by the deceased prevented this, leading the defendant to slit his neck with his weapon, intending to end his life, causing the described injuries noted in the attached forensic report, which resulted in his death. This felony was linked with two other felonies, at the same time and place:<\/p>\n

    He attempted to murder the victim, Ragab Metwally Ibrahim Arab, deliberately and with premeditation, by planning and firmly resolving to take his life and those of any police officers, believing in their disbelief and the necessity of killing them and permitting their blood. He prepared his knife and headed to the police station. Upon seeing the victim, he ambushed him, exploiting his unawareness, and swiftly slit his throat, intending to end his life to fulfill a terrorist purpose, causing the described injuries noted in the attached medical-legal report. He also unlawfully possessed a weapon \u00ab\u00a0knife,\u00a0\u00bb as detailed in the investigations.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
